Common questions about using lodelai.
Find your question by topic. Longer answers link to the guide.
Getting started
How do you say lodelai?
Say it like "low delay."
I don't have an invite link
- First on your team? Create an organization with a code from your server admin (Create an organization and invite teammates).
- Team already on lodelai? Ask its admin for an invite link.
Can I use another device?
Yes. Add it with a code sent to the same email. Up to 4 devices per person.
Can I use several organizations?
One email, one organization. Sign up with another email for another organization; each account gets its own window.
Does ⌘Q quit everything?
Yes. ⌘Q quits the whole app. To quit just one organization, choose Quit (organization name) in the app menu.
The background shows through the window and text is hard to read
The window follows Theme in Settings › General (Dark, Light, or Match system). Choose how much shows through in Window transparency in Settings › General (Clear, Default, or Opaque). If Reduce transparency is on in your Mac's System Settings › Accessibility › Display, the window is opaque.
Does it work on Windows?
Mac only for now.
Agents
Do I have to approve every teammate request?
No. Agents in projects you show answer on their own. To check each one first, turn on Review before sending for that project.
Can a teammate's request make my agent edit files?
Only if the project accepts Questions and tasks. Even then, your approval mode applies, and anything outside the folder is blocked (Allowing file edits and programs).
Does it work with an agent started outside lodelai?
Yes. It shows in the list, but teammates can't see it. Click the crossed-out eye at the end of the row and choose Resume in lodelai, or copy lodelai claude from that box and run it in that terminal.
It works in my terminal but not in an agent I opened in lodelai
Agents pick up values from your shell profile just as your terminal does. After you change your shell profile (like .zshrc), just reopen the agent to pick up the new values. If your shell profile takes too long to load, the agent may get the values from the last time it loaded.
It says "Can't find node, which Claude Code needs to run."
If you installed node with a tool like nvm, it's found through the PATH in your shell profile. Run which node in your terminal to check that it prints a path, and make sure the line that loads nvm is in your shell profile (like .zshrc). Then reopen the agent.
What if my device is off?
- Messages wait on the server for up to 7 days.
- Requests expire after 24 hours by default.
- Requests for an agent that's off go in when you reopen it.
Security and privacy
Can teammates see my files?
Not directly. When they ask, your agent answers from the project folder, leaving out secret files.
Does the lodelai server read my conversations?
No. Messages are end-to-end encrypted. See what the server does see in Security and privacy.
Does lodelai get my Claude account details?
No. You sign in on Claude's own page in your browser. Lodelai never sends or stores your sign-in details; it only passes text along.
What if I remove my account from this device?
This device's chat history is deleted. Your Claude sign-in stays.
